Dr. Josep Cabiol

Dr. Josep Cabiol Belmonte is a distinguished neurosurgeon and co-founder with a multilingual proficiency in Spanish, Catalan, English, and French. With over three decades of experience, he currently holds prominent positions as the Head of the Neurosurgery Unit at Neurocirugía Barcelona, CIMA Hospital, and the General Hospital of Catalonia in Sant Cugat del Vallés. His leadership extends to Quirón Dexeus in Barcelona since 2005. Dr. Cabiol has been a key figure in the field, serving as the Coordinator of the working group in neurovascular diseases at Bellvitge University Hospital since 1997. He has exhibited excellence throughout his career, from his residency at Bellvitge University Hospital from 1991 to 1995 to becoming a Specialist Physician in the Neurosurgery Department of Mútua de Terrassa University Hospital from 2004 to 2012. His educational journey is marked by significant achievements, including a doctoral thesis on "Factors pronósticos de la función visual en el adenoma de hipófisis intervenido por vía transesfenoidal," which was unanimously granted Excellent Cum Laude in 1998. Dr. Cabiol is a graduate in Medicine from the University of Barcelona, Bellvitge teaching unit, with a final course score of Excellent in 1989. In addition to his clinical roles, Dr. Cabiol is actively involved in teaching activities, collaborating with the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Barcelona since 2003. He has been an Associate Lecturer in Surgery – Neurosurgery and has contributed to various postgraduate courses and lectures on neurosurgery, demonstrating his commitment to education and knowledge dissemination. Dr. Cabiol is a respected member of prestigious medical societies, holding full membership in the Spanish Society of Neurosurgery since 1992 and actively contributing to the Catalan Society of Neurosurgery since 1992. His dedication to the field is further evident in his role on the Board of Directors of the Catalan Society of Neurosurgery since 1999.
