Dr. Mahnaz Naveed Shah is a US-trained Consultant Ophthalmologist and leading Glaucoma Specialist currently practicing at South City Hospital, Karachi. She earned her medical doctorate from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, and received her ophthalmology training from the prestigious Cullen Eye Institute. With over two decades of experience in adult and pediatric eye care, she is widely recognized for her dedication to advancing ophthalmic care in Pakistan. After returning from the U.S. in 2002, she became an integral part of Aga Khan University and later co-founded the Eye Day Care Centre at South City Hospital—a first-of-its-kind, advanced ophthalmology unit.
Dr. Mahnaz specializes in glaucoma and anterior segment surgery, with advanced training in both adult and pediatric ophthalmology. She holds board certification from the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Her expertise extends to complex glaucoma management, refractive procedures, and comprehensive surgical eye care. She also contributes to academic research, regularly speaks at international conferences, and serves as a founding member of the Pakistan Glaucoma Association.
