Prof. Dr. Bernhard Meyer stands as a highly esteemed neurosurgeon in Germany, boasting an impressive 31-year career marked by profound expertise. His specialization encompasses neuro-oncology, vascular neurosurgery, and brain tumors, showcasing a comprehensive understanding of the intricacies in these fields. Dr. Meyer commenced his professional journey as a senior consultant at the Department of Neurosurgery in the University Hospital Bonn, subsequently assuming roles as an associate professor of neurology at various universities. His contributions to neurosurgery were further recognized when he assumed the position of chairperson of the Neurosurgical Society in 2010 and later served as the president of the International Group for Advancement in Spinal Science from 2014 to 2018. Notably, in 2015, he earned the esteemed title of Chairperson of the Education and Fellowship Committee at Eurospine and presided over the German Academy of Neurosurgery. Currently, Prof. Dr. Bernhard Mayer holds the pivotal role of director at the Department of Pediatric and Adult Neurosurgery at Rechts der Isar University Hospital. Beyond his illustrious career, Dr. Mayer actively engages in research, focusing on vascular neurology, spinal, and oncological neurosurgery.
