

Prof. Dr. Gerhard Prager started his early education in Austria and later graduated with a medical degree; He completed his medical degree from the Medical University of Vienna in 1992; Dr. Gerhard specialized in bariatric surgery and also obtained a diploma in endocrinology; In 1993, he attended the military academy for research practice; Dr. Gerhard completed a guest semester in surgical endocrinology in the same institute in 1997; In 1999, he successfully finished his revised diploma in surgery.
Professor Gerhard Prager is a distinguished specialist in bariatric surgery, boasting an extensive portfolio of over 3,000 operations dedicated to obesity treatment. Currently serving as the head of the Obesity Outpatient Clinic at Vienna General Hospital and leading the Metabolic Surgery Center at Confraternitaet Private Hospital, he plays a pivotal role in advancing metabolic surgery practices. His active involvement includes memberships in esteemed organizations such as IFSO-European Chapter, Austrian Obesity Association, International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders, Austrian Society of Surgery, Austrian Society of Bariatric Surgery, and the American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery.
