Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Değertekin
Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Değertekin leads the Department of Cardiology at Yeditepe University Hospital in Istanbul, Turkey. With three decades of experience, he specializes in Cardiology & Cardiovascular Surgery, offering expertise in various treatments such as Aortic Stenosis, Aortocoronary Shunting, and Angioplasty. Graduating from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1990, he furthered his specialization in interventional cardiology at Istanbul Koşuyolu Heart and Research Hospital, obtaining a PhD title from Erasmus University in 2003. Dr. Değertekin's professional journey includes his appointment as Professor in the Department of Cardiology at Yeditepe University in 2005 and his role as a board member representing Turkey at the European Society of Cardiology in 2010. He is actively engaged in various medical associations, serving as a member of the European Cardiology Interventional Cardiology Working Group and holding positions in the Turkish Cardiology Association, including Assistant Secretary-General and Presidency of Interventional Cardiology 1st Association. His contributions to the field have been recognized with awards such as the Young Researcher Award in 2000 and the European Cardiology Association Training Scholarship award in the same year.
