After completing high school at the International Abitur School, he pursued higher studies at Johann Wolfgang von Goethe University Frankfurt. His extensive residency included training in General Surgery at Hanau City Hospital and Gynecology and Obstetrics at Northwest Hospital Frankfurt in 1983.
